Dormant human entities seem ensnared in a static darkness until an energy emanating from the body of a singular girl emerges, projecting onto the others and restoring their voices.

The search for the self and the memories and emotions associated with it lead us through forgotten and dark places of an inner world. We move in an apparent interactivity, generated by the camera work, through spaces created from around 150 3D scans, torn between curiosity and resistance.

Aka 赤 (Japanese for "red") is made from 33 meters of handmade 16mm film and shinkansen (bullet train) recordings. The intention is to construct a film as a space for primordial feeling, complex time, immersion, and one's own living body.

There is an ancient villa where desperate people have the opportunity to revive their fortunes by selling their bodies to mysterious entities in exchange of money.
